It was either stay in the cabin-anxious and alone, or go search for the one she loved. She buttoned up her jacket and walked out the door into the cool, foggy fall evening...

This summer I am reading books by two friends
Bus Ride To Freedom— Fred Gray
Fred Gray is a civil rights attorney. He was one of the chief architects of the strategies behind the Montgomery Bus Protest of the 1960s. He also represented Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King during that time. On a personal note, Mr. Gray also filed suits to integrate my alma mater Auburn University. Having lived through that time and attended Auburn 6 years after the first African American student was admitted because of Mr. Gray, I have a personal interest and know many of the names in the book. It is a great piece of American and Alabama history.
Hook — Randall Horton
I’ve know Randall Horton since his High School days when I was the head B-Team high school football coach and Randall was a wide receiver on my team. Randall chronicles his story from promising University undergraduate to homeless drug addict, international cocaine smuggler and an incarcerated felon before becoming a professor at The University of New Haven. Randall’s book is a testament to the human spirit.

That's a tough one... don't read fiction any longer. Biographies have held my interest during the last few years.

Hi Sue, great question! Probably because both shows had enough first run episodes to go into syndication. Typically, that happens after 88-100 episodes because it is more cost effective for the producers. Not a glamorous answer, but that's my best guess! Thom

Very seldom have it for long. If I find the the flow is just not there, I will either write something else, skip ahead to another chapter or just table it until later. I’ll come back.

The freedom. The ideas, the stories, the kernel of a thought that takes me away on a wonderful ride. It’s like I caught the big wave and I’m just riding it. It ’s a wonderful feeling to create pictures, stories, emotional rollercoasters, scenes, and situations with words.

Write. Write what you know. Be adventurous in your writing. Develop your style. Know your audience. Tell an interesting story.

I’m a story teller. Love telling them. There are stories everywhere. A nugget, a kernel of a thought enters the brain and a story idea emerges. From there I begin to explore it to see if there is actually a full story there.

I’ve always been a fan of short stories. I love the work of James Baldwin. Having lived an adventurous life that inspires me as a writer, I’ve seen many things and have many stories to tell. Most of the stories in the short story collection have been written over time, some as long as 30 years ago. The idea of a collection came with the realization of just how many stories there are to tell.
