When I'm in the middle of a story, I generally either take a bath in the dark or a sauna which both cleans out the cobwebs in my brain and frees my characters to start talking to me. If that doesn't work, I try wine, then I take a break.

I'm a bad writer. I intend to write, but I let things (mostly life) get in the way. I have a great group of writer friends who encourage me, a husband who is very supportive, and now I've cleared my calendar so I can write. Story inspiration comes from life. I don't write non-fiction, but the seed always comes from something I see, hear about, or sometimes dream about.

Currently, I'm working on Madness and Blood, which is the sequel to Thunder and Blood. The idea for this one came twofold: part of it came while I was in the middle of writing the first book, and the other part came at the very end, when I was trying to decide what would happen to the girls next.
