Ned Tillman The flooding of old Ellicott City inspired me to write The Big Melt. This historic town has been hit by two 1000 year floods in two years. Ned Tillman My readers of my first two books asked me to write a story that would engage, inform and inspire others to get more involved in slowing down our changing climate. The main character was modeled after a chance meeting with a young man at a camp in Maine. The story grew from there.
