A few years ago now, a man jumped up on the gate to my yard from the alley behind our house. I was sitting outside working on my laptop, and my first impulse was to get up and shout at him. Just the feeling of how dare somebody invade my space--of course a few seconds later my brain registered I better stay out of arm's reach. He stepped back off the gate, but started rambling about he needed to get in. He said he saw something in there, pointing around the other side of the house. Concerned there was some problem on my lot, I questioned what did he see. After some hesitation, where he looked at me doubtfully, he said "My death." I blinked, stood back a bit, and the thought that went through my head was, *He's high.* To me though, that doesn't refute that he experienced something, just it was making him react illogically. Quietly, I said to him, "Well, you're not gonna find it here." He tossed his head and rolled his eyes, like, of course I didn't understand. He went on something about he had to face his death. I don't remember how the conversation went exactly from there. I went inside and woke up my partner, then watched out the door as the guy paced up and down the alley looking at the house, or rather the wall around it. I had this idea like, as a "witch," I should try and talk him down, get him around to realizing it was something within himself he saw (I was assuming he looked at his reflection in one of our windows). However, I'm bad at starting normal conversations, much less something like that! At one point, I was back outside and he came to the gate again saying, "come over here." I again listened but didn't get anywhere near the gate. Eventually though, I changed my energy: I let go of the idea of helping him, and instead flowed energy out, away from me and my house. Seconds later, he walked away up the alley, and we never saw him again.

The first thing that popped in my head was Dream's realm from Sandman. However, don't know how to tell you what I'd do there because it's naturally chaotic, and in dreams, you operate in the moment. It would depend on what paths appeared before me or who I encountered. My next thought was the Neverwhere underworld. Though perilous, so many characters seemed to have found their niche or destiny there. I'd probably start out just trying to survive, but ultimately would seek out my quest to unlock my inner power, use my gifts for something more meaningful than just sitting at a computer all day. I'm sure there're tons of other worlds, those were just the ones that came to me now.
