Jon Sprunk Hi Milian! I would love to visit Sweden someday. Thank you for the invite.

If you read my books, please write to tell me what you thought.

Jon Sprunk I'm actually preparing to re-read the Malazan series by Steven Erikson. I think it's completely terrific. If I finish that before summer is over... I don't know. Have any recommendations?
Jon Sprunk The Mystery of the Author with Too Many Stories and Too Little Time.

No, seriously, my life is rather bland. I work, I write, and I spend a little time with my family.
Jon Sprunk Hey Wez,

Sorry it took me so long to answer.

Thank you for your comment! Yes, book 3 won't be released until 2018 (as far as I know). That's on me. My personal life has changed a bit over the past couple years, and it took me longer than normal to finish the manuscript. But everything is done now, and production is on-pace.

PS: I hope so! My agent is talking to GA about book 3. I hope to have good news on that front soon.

Jon Sprunk Hey Laurie. First, I apologize for taking so long to answer.

Thank you for saying that. No, there will be a fourth (and final) book, which I'm just starting to work on now. :)
Jon Sprunk Hi Beetle,

Thank you so much. I don't have plans to return to Caim at this moment, but things change. First I have to finish the Black Earth series and then see where my muse takes me.

Thank for the question!
Jon Sprunk Hi Overlord. Book 3 of the Black Earth series should be coming out in 2017, but I don't have a specific date yet.
Jon Sprunk Hey Overlord,

The third book of the series will probably be released in 2017. I don't have anything more concrete than that. But you can keep an eye on my facebook page or website for more news on that.
Jon Sprunk Hi Overlord,

The third book won't be out until 2017. Keep an eye on my website (www.jonsprunk.com) for details.

Jon Sprunk Hey Zach,

Thanks so much! I never get tired of hearing how much people enjoy my books.

Alas, I don't have any plans right now to return to those characters. I love them dearly, but I have many other tales to tell and only so much time. But I can't say it will never happen either. If a publisher came to me with an offer I couldn't refuse.... I'd sign up faster than Caim can gut a target.
Jon Sprunk Hey Overlord,

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Let me answer some of these questions for you.
Alas, Queen Byleth and Lady Anshara are really dead. Sorry to disappoint, but Astaptah doesn't like leaving loose ends.
I'm glad you enjoyed the ending with Astaptah. Does Horace stand a chance? Maybe, maybe not. The deck is certainly stacked against him. I'll tell you this much -- Horace is having doubts about this war, too. He's going to have to make some hard choices.
This series is going to be (knock on wood) four books.
Thanks for writing!
Jon Sprunk hey Amin,

Thanks for writing. There actually is a Kindle version of BLOOD AND IRON:

Sincerely,
Jon
Jon Sprunk Hey Aris. Thanks so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

The new pov characters are there to help me tell the larger story. As much as I love Horace, Alyra, and Jirom, there's a lot going on around them (sometimes right under their noses), so these other characters assist me in showing you other aspects of this chronicle.
Jon Sprunk Thank you for your comments, Aris. Based on what you've said, I think (hope) you're going to like book 2.

As for your question, I'm torn between Queen Byleth and Alyra. They are both strong and complicated women.

Thanks for your question.
Jon Sprunk A lifelong love of history, magic, and fighting injustice.
Jon Sprunk The second book in my Black Earth series. I'm revising right now and hoping to finish by the end of summer. After that, it's on to book 3.
Jon Sprunk Read, read, read and write, write, write. The best education for writing comes from reading, and the best training comes from writing (and re-writing). Also, don't expect to master the craft in a day (or a single year.) Give yourself tme to develop.
Jon Sprunk For me, there are 2 "best" parts about being a writer. The first is the writing itself. I simply love the act of creating new characters, new worlds, and powerful stories. The second thing is getting feedback from readers.
