Where is the best place to buy your books (from one province over, or online)? I prefer to source things as locally as possible (direct from author if possible, or local smaller bookshops if possible).
Jim Kochanoff Great question. My Drone World series publisher (Silver Leaf - https://silverleafbooks.com/) is usually the best place to buy from. However if customs (for a print book) is too much, then go to www.amazon.ca is the best way to purchase.

What books are on your summer reading list this year?
Jim Kochanoff I tend to go in genres. Mysteries, Scifi. Right now I am reading a number of motivational/self help books. Let's see if I can become a better person:)

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Jim Kochanoff Just keep writing. Its hard to stay motivated and you can get caught with writer's block. Just keep writing, its better to write something (even if its not very good) and have material to rewrite later.

Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?
Jim Kochanoff Driving Miss Daisy - it shows that there doesn't have to a romance for a man and woman to be fond of each other and for their relationship to challenge their way of thinking.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Jim Kochanoff I find it easier to go write about something else. If you try too hard to write about your current story, I find nothing comes. But if you write about something else, then eventually your subconscious will come up with an answer for your current book. I usually have a couple books on the go to deal with the dreaded writer's block.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Jim Kochanoff Drones are a very topically issue. They have been primarily used in the military but now can be bought at your local toy store. With the promise that they can deliver a pizza or spy on your neighbour, there has been much discussion on whether they represent good or bad. My book "Drone World" was an attempt to discuss the benefits and fears that drones represent.
