I seek inspiration wherever I can find it through a deep sense of curiosity. Whether it be in a film, at a museum, by conversing with friends, reading about a topic I have no knowledge in, people watching, traveling, exploring...I place myself in environments or instances that allow me to experience a novel sensation or an awakening. It's rooted in awareness - but by simply opening my heart, my mind and my eyes to the beauty that exists around me, that inspiration is what gives me the ability to feel a spark. That spark, whatever it may be, is what awakens something internally that uncovers a new idea, a thought, a realization, a concept or a newfound belief. From there, I have the courage and the drive to pick up a pen, think and write again.

Being able to articulate my inner emotions, feelings and understandings, express them through my unique voice, and land in the hearts of others. It's the mere fact that I am now able to write the words that others were unable to communicate on their own, ultimately helping them find peace and freedom. It makes me feel incredibly grateful that my work can be the reason why others feel seen, heard or validated.

Write something everyday with the intention that it is primarily for yourself. Write the words that you needed to read. Write the words that your younger self wish they had. Write the words that you've kept internally for far too long, even if they're painful to release.
When your intention is pure - to craft words, articulate inner emotions and bring them into a physical form - to serve yourself first, the universe will reward you back. It is only when you write from the heart that others will feel that intention and resonate with your work.
So start there; and never compare your work with others. Be inspired by others, but don't let their work consume you. Only you have that special voice that is unique to you and your personal experiences.

'Beauty in the Stillness' is time capsule of my life - from words that my hopeless 16-year-old self felt, to the chaos that my 20-year-old self felt, to the liberation that my current 26-year-old, self-assured self feels. It's explores the powerful transformations that I've experienced throughout my lifetime, which all stemmed from mindfulness, stillness and self-reflection. I wanted to capture all of the lessons I've learned, all of the realizations I've had and all of the low to high moments that ultimately allowed me to be in a mental space filled with self-love, gratitude and peace. I strived to create a piece of art through my own personal stories (heartbreak, healing, self-love, growth, etc) that provided insightful guidance to others. Not only to help them to discover and connect with their authentic selves, but also for them to find beauty throughout that entire journey - no matter how challenging it may be.
