This is a tricky question.
Because I write for a living, I just write. Not all of my work is for myself, so it's not as though I'm inspired by a ray of sunshine or a meadow and then sit down to write... although that has happened before.
But waiting for inspiration before I wrote wouldn't get me to the place where I was writing full-time. Instead, it was me waiting for inspiration. Now, I make it happen, and sometimes I get inspired.
It's taken years to believe in myself enough to pursue writing fully, including making myself write every day or most days.
When I was waiting for inspiration to strike, I was letting so many other things take me away from my dreams and goals of writing.
And everyone deserves to live the way they want. If you want to make something happen, let the desire to do it inspire you. You deserve it!

Keep writing! Learn all you can about the industry. Understand that no matter how hard it seems, it's going to get harder. And the best thing you can do is to not give up.

Carson 3 and Laney 2!

I wanted to continue the Carson story but put a new twist on what a haunting ghost was. The harpsichord in the story didn't start as a piano, but that quickly changed because there were a few mentions of a piano in Book 1.
Because Carson is a single mom, she's juggling more than work. Her children and family life had to come into play. Bringing Ella into the mix was natural because she and Carson are connected by blood. It also shows Carson being a mom and being unapologetically herself, which a lot of moms and families need to see. As a mom, I see many of my friends going through the same things Carson does with her children—only most of them don't see and speak with ghosts, at least none that I know of. :)

I sit and write, lol. I don't focus on what I'm writing. Instead, I write anything that comes to mind out on a blank document. Even if it's that the monkeys are wearing bright colored tutus and black roller skates.
