H.O. Ward I watch life . . . events . . . people . . . and imagine . . . what if . . .
quite often magic happens and an idea of a story is born.
H.O. Ward For me, the best thing about being a writer is the freedom of mind and time to be able to dream and work as and when you want. Waking up at three in the morning to empty the words in your head onto four pages of writing is a magical accomplishment that inspires more.
H.O. Ward I'm not sure I get/have writer's block . . . although I do go for walks (woods or beach is best) and let my mind wander while contemplating my story. And, I have a guinea pig . . . someone I can discuss/plan/edit my writing with to determine what works best as the story progresses. I usually take the guinea pig with me for walks in the woods which produces a win-win outcome and keeps away writer's block.
H.O. Ward I was reading an article and looking at pictures of Venice and its blue water lagoon when the idea to write a fantasy story with adventurous characters such as Tallulah Pinkswan, Lark Tulip, Bonapart and Professor Wilks to mention but one or two. While everyone can picture Venice with its canals and architecture, that is as far as reality goes in the world of Venice Lagoon.
H.O. Ward I would go to Venice Lagoon to experience the gaiety and drama of life.
H.O. Ward My previous writing genre has been Historic Fiction mixed with Spirituality in the case of Across The Parallel, which I enjoyed writing. However, I am changing tact and currently putting together a Historic Fantasy novel titled 'Venice Lagoon'.
It features Venice, Italy, as per the title and how we recognise it to be but that is as far as historic normality extends.
I'll keep you posted as the story moves along.
H.O. Ward He closed his eyes and took a crisp crunching bite of his juicy red apple. As the sweet juice trickled slowly down his throat he opened his eyes and stared in horror at half a maggot wriggling in his apple core.
