Thank you so much! That means a lot to me. I really hope so. Unfortunately I had to put my beloved Hidden Lands on hiatus to work on more profitable projects. I still think about it all the time, as I have a whole detailed plan worked out for more books and those characters are my heart, and I hope to return to them. But for the foreseeable future I had to focus on more straight up commercial work. I doubt it will be the end of it, it just might be a while. I feel fortunate that I was able to take any time to work on it at all!

Man, I don't know know why I never get alerts when people ask questions. I'm sorry this is so late! As for The Stolen Heart, I actually have over half of a sequel done, but...when I published The Vengeful Half, I was still in a YA traditional publishing mindset, and I did everything wrong for the self-publishing market, and that book REALLY didn't sell any copies. Meanwhile, my first adult fantasy, The Sorcerer's Concubine sold quite well and I've started picking up loyal readers. Originally, like ten years ago, Alfred and Olivia's story was ALSO an adult novel and I jumped through all these hoops to make it a YA novel. So, I'm actually reworking the whole story as an adult series. It's packaged as adult urban fantasy but really it's...kind of a weird genre mish mash like the YA ones were and a lot of stuff is the same, but I've changed some things back to the original story more.
Omigosh this is a long answer. But...anyway. I am super apologetic to the people who read the original YA version. But the series will be re-released starting in June as Fortune's Curse, Stolen Heart will be re-released with some new title or other probably November, and I should be getting to book 3 by early next year. There might even be a book 4 depending on how it's going. And at that point the whole story will be like I originally intended it to be and I'm never touching it again!!

Thanks for your answer. I'll be excited to read the adult version of the story; I really enjoyed The Sorcerer's Concubine and that's what led me to reading the other books. Sometimes I read YA but it only if the story is really compelling. If you feel like discussing the difference, for you, between traditional YA publishing and self-publishing, that would be interesting. In any case, I will be interested in what you come out with next. Let's just say I LOVE the magical doll people!

I'm enjoying writing for adults more myself. I self censored a lot and then editors would censor more. Some writers seem to get away with almost anything in YA but I never had those editors! I had to cut a girl wrapping her legs around a guys legs when they kissed and she was sitting on a table. Yeesh. I could do a proper blog post on all this at some point! I'm so glad you like the doll people! I actually have a new book out tomorrow, if you haven't seen it already, The Vampire's Doll...it's about Parsons, the Fanarlem girl in The Sorcerer's Wife who was born a real girl. And of course Lester and the Alamonts will still be in the new version of the other story.

Yes, Magic Under Glass is done and I doubt I will ever return to those characters. There is a musical that was performed this past summer and may be performed again, so the characters live on that way, I suppose!
