Trauma in my own life and the life of someone near and dear to me. I wanted to write a book that shows the characters going though human experiences (in a fantasy setting) and having to deal with the trauma and grief that accompanies them. I wanted to show how events don't have to define a person. I wanted to show how people can rise higher than what life throws at us and become someone new and better in the process.

It is silly but I would love to go to the world I created in Wounds of Ash. There is a city on the mountains called Vendin. I would love to visit their market and tour the houses built right out of the mountain.
Other than my own world, I would really like to visit Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere. All the worlds are so amazing and I especially would love to visit Elantris or Uruthiru.
