I stepped away from writing for an undetermined amount of time. Life has tossed me more than a few curves so two novels I was revisiting in hopes of completing them have been pushed aside. It certainly isn't any form of writers block that is preventing me from moving forward. I have several stories I would still like to write. It is a poor excuse but I am just overwhelmed with a great many other things over these last few years.

I get inspired at the oddest times to write a novel. There are very few times when inspiration makes sense. Music Box Danseur is one of the few times the story entered my mind at an understandable time. I was attending a ballet with my mother. It was a collection of short performances clipped from many popular ballets. There were about five pairs of principal dancers that stepped on stage to showcase segments from Swan Lake, Cinderella, Giselle, and various other romantic ballets. We were more than half way through the show when my mind began focusing on the couples more than the dancing. The story started coming into my head rather quickly. All the pairs that appeared on stage were of the opposite sex, but I stopped seeing them as such and replaced them in my head with the males that lead the story I created.

My stories just pop into my head at odd times. All it took for The Illusive Lord of the Sea was for me to lay my eyes on a guy in a gay club that I was partying at with friends. He was standing at the bar waiting for his drink. The instant I saw him my mind started working on a story. The guy and I exchanged smiles. He got his drink and his momentary presence gave me the first character the story would revolve around-Captain Freeman Legend.
