S.C. Cunningham The Deal, Karma, The Calling, Already Dead, They Know, Conscious... with a standalone crossover to The Crimella Murders. Loved every minute of writing this series. Siobhan x.
S.C. Cunningham How the hells bells I moved out of London, down to a quiet village on the south coast to write books by the sea, and ended up working in crime as a CID Crime Investigator. The quiet writing life did not go to plan! :-)
S.C. Cunningham I awoke one morning to the news that Corona Virus was serious. That our country, and indeed the world, would be going into lockdown.
S.C. Cunningham I adore Agatha Christie, so hanging out in one of her detective's country cottages whilst they dissect a murder would be wonderful. (I'm also a Police Crime Investigator, so it would help.)
S.C. Cunningham Sadly, am writing the next book in The Fallen Angel Series, called The Calling, so reading is difficult at this time. Am awaiting the new Lee Child, written with his brother, which is out later in the year.
S.C. Cunningham I was taken at the age of 3/4yrs, I escaped, another little girl was taken the following week, she didn't. So I said a little prayer to God each night, asking him that if I was a good little girl, when I died would he let me sit on a cloud for a while, invisible, and get the baddies who slipped through his fingers...

Viola... inspiration for The Fallen Angel Series x8 - Book I 'The Deal'.
S.C. Cunningham My books are based on incidents that have happened to me.

'The Deal' - I was taken as a child.
'The Penance List' - I crossed paths with a serial rapist (unscathed)

Both incidents sowed the seed for their creation. I am naturally inquisitive, looking at the faces of these men... I kept asking questions.

Why did they do the things they did?
What led them to this place?
Who/what was responsible?
How could things have been different?

I work as a criminal investigator.

So I guess experience is my inspiration.
S.C. Cunningham Book three of THE DAVID TRILOGY 'For My Sins'
and
Book two of THE FALLEN ANGEL SERIES 'Karma'

I must be insane, but I am linking up the lead character of the trilogy DAVID with the lead JACK in the angel series.... I couldn't kill DAVID off... l love him way too much!!

(I know, I need to get a life!)

UPDATE 23 05 23

I have now finished both the above, and am writing book four of The Fallen Angel Series, called ALREADY DEAD, a jaunty little title :-) Loving it. David is still with us, causing chaos!
S.C. Cunningham Just start... open the black page and write, write, write. It may be drivel, but keep on going until the story is written. Then comes the job of editing, moving, changing the piece from coal into a diamond... then comes the job of marketing, which is fun, as you get to talk with readers, bloggers, interviewers... the people you are writing for.
The job of a writer is three parts - writing, editing, marketing.

GO FOR IT.... (am shouting!)
S.C. Cunningham The freedom to write, create, shift, change, explode whatever I want... it's my world and I can run free with it. Give my work all the things I crave for when reading a book.

The reviews... they are wonderful, they give me courage and reason to write more. I love to entertain folk, and lead them on an escapism journey.... especially in these troublesome times. I like to make them laugh.
S.C. Cunningham Rightly or wrongly, I try to get in the mindset that it doesn't exist, nothing is blocked, it just isn't sorted enough in my head to leap to the page...
When things aren't 'ready', I try to keep moving, staying quiet, but keeping busy, gardening, walking dogs, cooking (well pretending to cook, because I cant cook!) .... the jobs I can do without thinking leave space for the ideas to form. When they do, I drop everything and run to the key board... (phew!)
