Manal El-Ramly Mariam :) This question means so much to me because it is really the heart of why I write.

I believe it is so important for us, as humans, to collectively remember that we are enough. That we are amazing. That we are brilliant.

One of the most important ways we come to that realization is by being present. When we are present with ourselves and with life, we allow ourselves to fully experience all that is.

This first book, Your Five Senses: Your Superpowers, directly and indirectly reminds children that what they are born with is not only enough—it is SUPER.

When we use the incredible gifts we've already been given—our five senses—life becomes richer, more magical, and more alive. And through that presence, we begin to connect with something even deeper: our inner knowing, our intuition, our clarity.

If a message like that can take root in a child and stay with them for a lifetime... that's gold.

That's what inspired me to write these books.
Manal El-Ramly Hi Yusef! I absolutely love this question.

Yara was inspired by my grandniece, Nala.

Being a mom (I absolutely adore my children) and an auntie (I absolutely adore my nieces and nephews) has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. When I became a grand-aunt, it opened my heart in a whole new way and gave me an even deeper appreciation for helping children connect to themselves—to their inner selves and their inner knowing.

I wish these books had existed for my own children, my nieces and nephews, and honestly, for me too.

I want Nala, and all children, to know that everything they need already lives within them.

Whitney Houston famously sang, "I believe the children are our future." When we help children calibrate to themselves first, the possibilities for their lives become infinite.

One of my greatest teachings is that when we remind children of these truths, we are reminded of them ourselves.

As for Yara herself... she is vibrant, curious, adventurous, and incredibly lovable - just like Nala. And she has Nala's radiant smile, fair skin, and beautiful red hair (although Nala insists it's orange! 😊).
