Jeanette A. Fratto I would travel to Stephanie Plum's world in New Jersey. I would love to have pizza with her and Joe, then visit Cluck in a Bucket with Lula, have dinner with the Plum family, including Grandma Mazur, and finally, spend a quiet evening with Ranger.
Jeanette A. Fratto "Murder in Thrall" and "Murder in Retribution" by Anne Cleeland. Great detective stories set in Scotland Yard, with the most interesting female detective, Kathleen Doyle, and her superior, Michael Sinclair, Lord Acton. They are the most unique couple I've seen in crime fiction.
Jeanette A. Fratto Peter and Rina Decker in the series written by Faye Kellerman. They've grown together over the years and compliment each other so well.
Jeanette A. Fratto Since my most recent published book is "No Good Deed", and the readers of my first book were asking for a sequel, I decided to continue Linda's experiences but with a different twist. She's required to investigate an assault case filed on a handsome and squeaky-clean Hollywood actor who is arrested in Orange County. Since "he said-she said" is common today in many cases, I took it from there.
Jeanette A. Fratto Ideas come to me that require that I write them down. Most of my writing starts in my head and seems to continue on with a mind of its own once I start writing.
Jeanette A. Fratto I'm currently working on the third book in my mystery series, featuring probation officer Linda Davenport. As in the first books, "No Stone Unturned" and "No Good Deed", the third, as yet untitled, book is set in southern California and continues Linda's adventures as an Orange County probation officer.
Jeanette A. Fratto My advice for aspiring writers is to just start writing. See what happens. My first efforts make me cringe when I read them, but time and practice greatly improved my style.
Jeanette A. Fratto The best thing about being a writer is deciding what you want to write and when you want to write it. My wish is to either entertain or inform and sometimes I'm able to do both.
Jeanette A. Fratto It's difficult. Instead of staring at a blank page, I do something else, but continue to think about my novel, my characters, and where I want them to go next. Usually ideas will form and I'm then ready to put something on that blank page.
