Jeanette Fratto has a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Social Science from California State University, Fullerton. She enjoyed a 26-year career with the Orange County California Probation Department, where she learned that few outside the field knew the important role Probation plays in the criminal justice system. Book Review "A Thousand Steps" by T. Jefferson Parker

I have been a fan of Parker for years and have read all his books. Unfortunately, his latest,"A Thousand Steps," greatly disappointed me. Set in Laguna Beach in the 1960's, and mired in sex, drugs, and free love. Our hero, if there is one, is 16 year old Matt Anthony, part-time student, part-time paper boy and full-time unhappy kid. His mother is a waitress when she isn't in her bedroom doing dru

Tom Blubaugh Hi Jeanette,

Thank you for joining my circle of friends.

Jeanette Gone GirlThis is a book you won't be able to put down, or forget when you're finished. Following an alternating chapter format of "he said - she said", the story begins to unfold on the day of Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary, and continues to an astounding and unexpected ending. You will be led down one path, only to veer suddenly in a different direction. To say more would give too much away. The author's writing skills are outstanding. If I could give the book more than five stars, I would.
