Bonnie Tharp Many of the subplots in my books are inspired by actual events in my own life, or the lives of someone close to me. My latest book FROM THE ASHES was inspired by a similar episode in a family member's life, with exploitation by a caregiver and a house fire. The stalking incident in YOUR EVERY MOVE was loosely based on a similar situation that occurred while I was in college.
Bonnie Tharp Read. Listen to music. Take long walks. Talk ideas with other writer friends. Free writing sometimes helps to break it, too. Just keep plugging and putting one word after the other and you'll get there.
Bonnie Tharp I get to eavesdrop on conversations in public places and use them in my work. I get to meet the most interesting readers on the planet. I get to live the stories that evolve in my imagination. I get to kill off really creepy people in my books, if I want to. Lots of "bests" to being a writer.
Bonnie Tharp Write. Read. Write. Read. Repeat. Learn about the craft of writing through local writer groups. Attend writer's conferences and network. Make writing a part of your life. And don't forget to read and write some more.
Bonnie Tharp A brand new group of characters, a little younger, but no less quirky. The tension in the story is Cara and her health, a budding romance, and the bucket list she creates. I think she's going to become obsessed with that stupid list and hopefully find out that checking off things is not "living".
Bonnie Tharp I've always loved to write. Letters. Journals. Stories. When I was working full time and going to college nights I got the idea for Feisty Family Values and the ladies inspired me with their quirky characteristics and mannerisms. Music, nature, people, books and films all inspire my writing.
Bonnie Tharp Imagination is a funny thing and strikes when you least expect it. The Morgans and Malone's weren't done yet, and still probably aren't. Life is filled with such stories if you just listen, watch, and remember.
