Sorry for the delay in responding. I had some health issues that forced me to put my writing on a shelf for a while. I am now on the mend and about to finish the first rough draft for Mistyx 3. This one focuses more on Jackie, Blade, Yarrow, Alec, and introduces a couple new characters. Life is never dull at the Mistyx tavern.
Although I couldn't write much for months, my ideas didn't stop. So I am also working on a wolf shifter series, a contemporary romantic comedy, and a fantasy/adventure series.
Thanks so much for asking!!!!

Mistyx book 1 - Mistyx Sonata is being edited per beta reader input. I am targeting to have it out late summer. I just finished the first draft of Mistyx book 2 - Mistyx Duet and I should be able to ship it out to my beta readers within the next few months. If everything goes as planned, I want to publish book 2 within a couple months of book 1.

I just sent off Book 1 "Mistyx Sonata" to my beta readers for their review and their feedback will determine how much time is needed to get it ready for publication. Most likely, I will have it out within the next few months.

My husband inspires me. Most of my stories start out at bedtime stories that I read to him.

I am currently working on a two-book story called Mistyx. It is a light-hearted love story about a Pixie and Vampire that I hope will make readers smile.
In my Blue Fire series, I combined my love of drawing with writing. This time I combined my love for music with writing. Toward this goal, the book includes a music playlist to help set the mood and tone for each chapter. I hope to have the first book "Mistyx Sonata" published this summer and book 2 "Mistyx Duet" published shortly thereafter.

The best thing about being a writer is...
1. Being able to capture a make-believe world and to manipulate that world based on just the choice of words. It is truly amazing the power of words.
2. Once a story is written, to be able to share that story with others. There is nothing that makes me smile more than when a reader drops me a note to ask me questions about a book or let me know their thoughts about one of my stories. I have made some great pen pals this way.

If I get stuck on a particular spot in a story, I take a break and go outside. I get out my gardening tools and plop myself in the middle of my garden. There's something oddly satisfying about yanking weeds out of the dirt.
After I've calmed down, I go back in, sit with my iPad, and work on a different part of the story. No one says that you have to write in sequence so I work on the part that calls to me the most or matches my mood. One minute I could be writing a steamy love scene, the next jumping back to a ferocious battle, or maybe skipping ahead to a tear-filled ending.
I typically have 5-8 stories going at the same time so that I have plenty of stories to be able to find something that tickles my writing fancy. I also have large gardens with plenty of weeds to yank when I get frustrated.

As with all of my stories...insomnia is the key for me. When I can't sleep I pass the time by making up characters, locations, and story lines. It helps me escape into another world for a few minutes.
For my most recent book, Mistyx, that I am just finishing writing, I went to bed with a song stuck in my head (These Boots are Made for Walking by Nancy Sinatra). I ended up building a whole love story inspired by an entire playlist. Now that odd assortment of songs will have a purpose. *smile*
