Josh Bersin When I dont feel up to writing I just don't do it - the inspiration often comes later, so don't force it.
Josh Bersin For me personally, writing is the best way to "invent" and bring new ideas to market. I get a huge thrill from developing a new idea and taking it to a practical, actionable solution for business people, job seekers, and entrepreneurs. Writing is my vehicle for invention and innovation.
Josh Bersin Start a blog and go for it. There's nothing like having the pressure to put your thoughts in public to force you to improve - especially when comments, criticism, and great accolades collect to help inspire you!

Second thing: read everything you can get your hands on. I am an avid and passionate reader - and always admire and bookmark great books and articles to teach and inspire me.
Josh Bersin I am about half way through a book on employee engagement, called "Simply Irresistible" - this is a topic I've been studying and learning about over the last few years and it is extremely important to business leaders in all organizations. Anyone who would like to share experiences in measuring, improving, or accelerating employee engagement and productivity please contact me.
Josh Bersin Somehow I seem to have become a natural writer - and it is probably my greatest love. Good writing takes time, research, and incredible focus - and it is a wonderful way to organize my thoughts and make sure I"m clear on my thinking. I have much less time to write lately (have been a partner at Deloitte for a few years) but look forward to getting back to it over the coming year.

I literally "itch to write" every morning when I wake up, believe it or not.
Josh Bersin I spent most of my day meeting with corporate HR and talent leaders and vendors around the world and for many years people have come to me for help with learning measurement and analytics. After reading almost everything on the topic (including Kirkpatrick and Philips of course), I realized that the markeplace was struggling - so I attempted to write a very practical, pragmatic book on how to measure training. Many companies have adopted this model and I continue to work with companies on their training and development strategies today.
