Chris Hammer Thanks, Denise! I am currently working on the fourth installment as well as a new series which I hope readers will enjoy. I haven't decided how long I will keep Dys going. I guess as long as I can keep it fresh. I'm glad you got the "dys". I always wonder if readers think it's a typo - lol!
Chris Hammer Hi, Katie :-) To my surprise I thoroughly enjoyed The Divergent, however I did not care for The Fault In Our Stars. I like an author who can surprise me, or at least write without predictability, and while The Divergent managed to keep up a page turning pace, The Fault In Our Stars did not. I knew almost from the start the truth behind Anna's identity and I found the "reclusive" author's sudden amiable willingness to correspond with Gus much too convenient. Thanks for asking!.
Chris Hammer The Dysorganized Crime Series began - in exaggerated fashion - from bits and pieces of real life. The fourth installment fell into place from there.
Chris Hammer Getting inspired is easy - I have a vivid imagination and can spin a story from a mundane trip to the grocery store. The more challenging part is staying inspired. That takes some work and I find by writing every day, even if only a few pages, I stay connected to my characters and I let them inspire me.
Chris Hammer The fourth installment in the Dysorganized Crime Series, and a new (and long awaited) mystery series.
Chris Hammer Be prepared for criticism and rejection and accept them both with an open mind. These are the best tools for growing as a writer.
Chris Hammer I step away from the computer. I walk the dog or pet the cat or meditate, anything that refocuses my energy. If I am on deadline I just keep writing, anything, even a grocery list. I find by keeping the typing momentum going the right words will come.
