Rhonda Gibson Hi Rachel! I'm glad you are enjoying A Biltmore Christmas. This book was Diane Ashley's brain child. She came up with the basic idea and we all brain stormed it together. We knew our characters would be sisters and would be orphans, we also knew they would all four find jobs and husbands on the Biltmore Estate. From there we each took a girl and created her story.

Diane, Sylvia and myself are all three members of a Christian writer's group. So we came together first. Jeri is a good friend and we asked if she'd like to do one of the stories. We each wrote our own story and tried to include the other authors characters in our books. I'm the only author who has never been to the Estate but Diane and Sylvia kept me informed with books and videos about the Biltmore's. I hope to someday visit.

Thank you so much for your questions!
Rhonda Gibson Hi Cintia,

Sorry it has taken me sooooo long to get back to you. I truly am sorry.

To answer your question, I have a question. Do you write the story in your head? Parts of it?

If so, write those thoughts/story down. Don't think of it as writing a book. Just write. After you have words on the page you can go back and fix it.

When I get blocked in a story, I go and write other parts of the story. For instance, I love writing epilogues and have play them over and over in my head long before I get to them in the book. But, if I get blocked in the book, I will go to a clean page and start writing the epilogue as if I'm just thinking about it or daydreaming. For some reason, that helps the part I'm blocked on to start to flow.

I hope that makes sense to you.

Thanks for the great question!!
Rhonda Gibson I believe I get all my ideas from the Lord. This time it came from reading article and asking myself, what if a mother got tired of her grown sons not marrying and giving her grandchildren. From that Taming The Texas Rancher and His Chosen Bride were born. My next three books came from those books.
Rhonda Gibson I read and pray.
Rhonda Gibson I am working on a Love Inspired Historical that I've titled, The Pastry Bride. That title will probably be changed but it's a working title for me. The Pastry Bride is Emily Jane's story from His Chosen Bride. She's one of the four mail-order brides that Levi Westland had to chose from :)
Rhonda Gibson Read the type of books you want to write and learn the craft. Get involved with a writer's group. And keep it fun :)
Rhonda Gibson For me, it's the readers letters. I love when I get letters from people who have enjoyed my books.
Rhonda Gibson I'm not sure I've ever had writer's block... I have procrastinated ALOT
