Hi, Jan! It's true that Penguin Roc won't be publishing any more Jensen Murphy, Ghost for Hire books. : ( But I'm not ruling out indie publishing in the future if there's enough interest out there (and if I get permission to continue the series). It'd be great if both could happen!
Thank you so much for asking.

(view spoiler)[Based on the sample I read on Kindle, Jensen seems to be very dependent on Amanda Lee. Not just for emotional support but for more practical things as well. In fact she seems to almost need Amanda just to exist, and move around.
Without giving away too many spoilers, will we ever see Jensen "break free" and be a completely independent ghost with no need for a human aid at all? (hide spoiler)]

Hey, Chris--oh, there'll be a definite progression. One of Jensen's big problems to conquer *is* that dependency on Amanda Lee at first. There are some twists and turns that complicate the situation, too.
Hope you enjoy, and thanks again!

Hi, Chris! Thank you so much, and I really appreciate your interest and the question. :)
At this point, there will be three books in the series: Only the Good Die Young, Another One Bites the Dust, and Every Breath You Take. The third book is out next week, so you're starting just in time to binge read, LOL.
Again, thank you so much!

Very thoughtful question, Richard! Stephen King has always left me feeling that way, particularly when it comes to his shorter works. I will probably ask to be put to rest with a copy of NIGHT SHIFT! Whenever I read his work, it feels as if I'm wallowing in a feast.
I'm the same way with Donna Tartt. THE SECRET HISTORY is one of the only books I read over and over again.
How about you?

Hi, Richard, and thank you! That's a very cool compliment. I'm actually not very fluent in jazz, although I'm an eclectic music listener. I did write a lot of poetry when I was younger (Where did those days go?!?), so maybe that influenced how I write now.
I appreciate your question and your kindness!
Best,
Chris

Hi, Rachael! Thank you so much for asking that. Vampire Babylon should be released by Audible very soon. (I chatted with the narrator in October and she was wrapping up her work!) All six core books will be on sale, and I'll be shouting the release from the rooftops. If you aren't receiving my newsletter, here's the link: http://chrismariegreen.com/lists/?p=s... . I also announce things on Twitter (@ChrisMarieGreen) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Chris-...).
I do have a book on Audible right now--it's a chick lit/new adult called THE SHE CODE. Here's the link: http://www.audible.com/pd/Romance/The... .
Again, I appreciate your asking this, and fingers crossed for more in the future. I *love* to listen to books, too. :)

Hey, Vickie! Thank you so much for the question. :)
It's actually really easy to separate the pen names in my head. Chris Marie Green writes action, paranormal, and usually focuses on her female protagonist in "her" urban fantasies. Crystal Green is always going for the happy ending. The only time the two sort of blended together was when I wrote for Bombshell several years ago. (For those of you who don't know, Bombshell was a Silhouette women's action line that didn't last as long as I wish it had!) I wrote two books for them, one of which was my first urban fantasy (THE HUNTRESS). Since I wasn't writing as "Chris" at that time, I used my Crystal Green name, even though the ending for THE HUNTRESS wasn't a traditional romance happy ending. I also wrote a couple of vampire books for Blaze as Crystal Green, but those were definitely romances.

Hi, Roswita! Thanks so much for asking--and it's a good question, too. :)
I would say that I do this 50% of the time. It really depends on where my mind is at, especially if I'm looking for a new story or plotting one. Someone might have an interesting physical tick that I expand upon for a character or an interesting way of talking. I try hard not to use a lot of personal details (hardships, personal problems) from those I know; I usually read the news or articles for ideas on those sorts of character details. I also "interview" my characters with a set of questions I keep handy, and their lives get fleshed out from that technique.
Thank you so much! I hope I answered your question. :)

(view spoiler)[Right now, "Chris Marie Green" is working on the second full-length Lilly Meratoliage book (there's a prequel novelette called "The Girl with No Name" in the KICKING IT anthology and an urban fantasy romance called SHADOWS TILL SUNRISE, which is the official first book in the new series).
Lilly was a villain in the second/London trilogy of the Vampire Babylon series. She was a bad, bad girl, but she's been through some life-changing times. In a novella I wrote named "Raising the Darkness" (which is in the MONSTER HUNTERS collection), she started on a path to redemption. After that story, she met a white bayou witch who used a pair of charmed boots to heal Lilly. Unfortunately, those boots heal at a cost--they drain her of memories every sunrise, so Lilly wakes up with amnesia. Still, she's currently chasing down bad guys in the New Orleans area with the help of a sexy psychic.
I came up with the idea of the boots while I was in New Orleans, on a tour. I'd been invited to write a novelette for the KICKING IT anthology, and I was looking for a premise. The one element we had to have in the story was a pair of shoes that would play an important part. When the tour guide told a story about people being buried alive I, at first, was going to use that trope for Lilly, somehow including the boots. Then I came upon the idea of boots made of bayou vines, which would be alive and charmed. Since the novelette wouldn't have a high word count, I decided that having her wake up with amnesia would do away with the need to dump a lot of back story up front, LOL. It all worked out.
