Adam Gellert First, check your motivation for writing - if it's to be popular or famous, it's probably not the right reason to write. If you're passionate about writing for the satisfaction it brings to others, go for it. Just know it takes a lot of work and determination to get to completion, and you have to have a thick skin when you start getting feedback from others on your manuscript!
Adam Gellert The satisfaction of pouring your heart and soul into a subject you are passionate about, and getting to share that with the world. Having something in print is permanent and can last for generations, so there's unlimited impact that can be had over the years. Just look at the Bible - I wonder how amazed those early writers must be that people today are being impacted by their willingness to be obedient to God's calling to write.
Adam Gellert With my grandfather's book, the only reason I got writer's block was from the emotional toll of transcribing my grandfather's journal, since he had died in 2000. Seeing his handwriting, and hearing those stories he used to tell, made me stop for several months at a time. My drive and determination to tell the story kept me coming back.

Fo my latest book, I don't recall getting writer's block too often. But when I felt stuck, I just had to hit the pause button for a few days and refresh myself in my relationship with God and my family. I would just wait until I felt the time was right to resume writing.
Adam Gellert I love sharing stories from my life that can impact others' lives as well. As my publisher says, if you want to write for yourself, write a diary. If you want to write for an audience, there has to be something in it for them.
Adam Gellert My newest book was just released in July 2016. It's a Christian non-fiction book titled "Activation: A Story of God's Transforming Power". The book relates the story of God's sudden "activation" of my life after years of "satisfied" Christian living, and details the amazing adventures I and my family and friends have been on since my transformation that began in 2012.
