First, check your motivation for writing - if it's to be popular or famous, it's probably not the right reason to write. If you're passionate about writing for the satisfaction it brings to others, go for it. Just know it takes a lot of work and determination to get to completion, and you have to have a thick skin when you start getting feedback from others on your manuscript!
