Trish Edmisten Well, that depends on whether you're asking about fictional couples I've written about or in general. If it's a couple I've written about that would be Erica Wallace and Todd Lincoln from Letters from Linc. The subject matter was and still is near and dear to me, and writing their story gave me an outlet for confusion I was feeling surrounding the war.
As far as overall, I know this will probably sound corny, but my favorite fictional couple is Beauty and the Beast. I love the against all odds theme and I'm a big fan of damaged heroes that find love in impossible situations. I also adore that Belle, our Beauty in the Disney animated movie, is intelligent and loves to read and isn't taken in by only what's on the surface of a person.
Trish Edmisten If I have a story idea but I can't figure out how to get it off the ground, I'll usually map out every event I want to take place. Then I'll evaluate the list and put the events in the order in which it makes most sense for them to happen. That's usually enough to get the creative juices flowing. When that doesn't work, I just have to set the story aside. I find that forcing an idea often makes for bad writing.
Trish Edmisten I love watching my characters come to life and experiencing things with them. Even better is seeing how readers respond to the characters. They embrace my work and my characters in a way that I never would have expected. It's very humbling and makes me happy to be a writer.
Trish Edmisten Decide what you want to get out of writing, not what you want others to get out of it and then go for it. When you do that, it will make you a happier and better writer.
Trish Edmisten At the moment I'm working on Tough Times, the 3rd book in the Time for Love series, but I already have my next series lined up.
Trish Edmisten From my readers. So many fans connected with the characters in Like You Mean It and begged for more of them. I started to write a spin off and then the story was getting so long, I realized it woudl be better as a series. From there, the Time for Love series was born.
