One gets a wonderful sense of achievement when a book or a poem is finished. That is when you have proof read it yourself and when friends also proof read When all this is done you know you have just made something unique. Every writer is an artist in his or her own way. Cooks are artists and are creative but their creations get eaten while your book, though it might not last for ever does remain and will do so after you have gone.

Sit down and read a novel. Though often when I write something, particularly if it is poetry, I leave the rough manuscript for some weeks then go back to it. I often find that I can improve it.

Ideas for books just come into your head. At present I need to ask God for another two hundred years as I have so many ideas buzzing around. Soon do one on my home town and all the crazy, brilliant, and just funny folk who live there. Do not think a request will be succesful. Write like mad, it may be your last.

A Book for Christians on the Holy Spirit of God. There is very much confusion about the Third Person of the Trinity, particularly among Theologians. I give a purely Biblical account. Nearly done and the longest book I have ever attempted.

Learn by your mistakes. When I was at sea we used to get lots of back copies of Reader's Digest. I read an article cal Increase your failure rate. At that time I was a very unsuccesful author. It encouraged me to go on writing but to look for faults in what I wrote.

The Greeks used to believe in the nine Muses, minor goddesses who inspired people to create. I used to write stories while in Junior school. Getting married and having a family helps. One writes poetry for one's wife and stories for one's children.
