Lee Libro The best thing about being a writer is being able to create whole new realities through fiction. While it takes a lot of work (for example, editing out nine hundred words for every thousand you write) the end result is incredibly rewarding. Bringing tangible characters that your readers relate to and engaging them in that world makes writing the next best thing to playing god!
Lee Libro I'm an advocate of letting stream of consciousness do its work. As Stephen King said, "Let's get one thing clear right now, shall we?. . .Ideas seem to come quite literally from nowhere, sailing at you right out of the empty sky...Your job isn't to find these ideas but to recognize them when they show up."

When I come to an impasse in my story I relax and let anything flow. Sometimes this is the best way to discover a whole new plot twist or aspect of my characters. This isn't always the case. Editing will smooth out whatever erroneously develops, but for the most part, I let the process lead the way, not overthinking which can also lead to overwriting.
