Stoney M. Setzer Yes, there will be, Lord willing. I am actually working on a couple of stories with Carter in them...a short story and a novel, with more in the planning stages.

Also, there are other anthologies from Ye Olde Dragons that include my stories, and all of them are set in the same universe as "Skin Deep," even though those do not feature Carter himself.
Stoney M. Setzer One summer, our family took a vacation to Amelia Island, FL. On the day we left, we noticed a lot of news crews from nearby Jacksonville on the beach, as well as a number of police cars. Later we learned that someone had gotten shot, dumped into the water, and then washed up on the beach. That sounds like a pretty good start for a mystery, don’t you agree? Thanks for asking!
Stoney M. Setzer Thanks for the question! Of my own titles, I would recommend "Dead of Winter."

As for other authors who have inspired me, I recommend Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None," Ted Dekker's "Thr3e," Tim Downs' "Head Game," and anything by Frank Peretti. Thanks again for your interest!
Stoney M. Setzer One medallion would repel the monsters, while the other one attracted them. Clearly, I destroyed the wrong one.
Stoney M. Setzer I have attempted it, and I have mixed feelings about it. The good part is that, if I get writer's block with one project, I can switch over to the other. Sometimes that gives me the spark I need to get over the writer's block.

The bad part is that it goes back to the concept of trying to serve two masters. If I have two books going at once, then any time I spend on Book A comes at the expense of Book B, so to speak. It's very hard to give equal time to two simultaneous projects. I usually end up giving one more attention than the other.
Stoney M. Setzer Since my imagination is always coming up with stories anyway, being a writer gives me an outlet for them.
Stoney M. Setzer Every summer, my family and I drive about forty-five minutes south to a peach farm in Culloden, GA that is an agritourism attraction. Our route always takes us past an old, decrepit motel that looks like the Bates Motel from "Psycho" (one of my all-time favorite movies). Interestingly enough, there are always a couple of vehicles in the parking lot, and once or twice we have seen people going in or out of the rooms. My imagination gets sparked. Who would choose to stay somewhere like that, and why? What kinds of things might happen there? Then, following through with the "Psycho" angle, I think, "What if, instead of the guy running the place being crazy like Norman Bates, the innkeeper was the normal one?" The idea for "Dead of Winter" flowed from there.
Stoney M. Setzer I see stories everywhere I look. If I watch a movie or read a book, I think about how I might have told the story differently. If I drive past an old abandoned building, I wonder how long it's been sitting empty and if there was ever a time when it saw a lot of use. If unusual people cross my path (and they do, frequently! ), I wonder about their stories. Then my imagination fills in the blanks from there.
Stoney M. Setzer It depends. Sometimes going back and editing my work in progress will get the ideas flowing again. Sometimes I just need to force myself to work through it. At other times, I find that taking a few days off without writing anything helps.
Stoney M. Setzer Always try to improve. Try to make everything you write better than the last.
Stoney M. Setzer I am putting the finishing touches on a mystery - suspense novel entitled "Dead of Winter," which I hope to release sometime in early 2015.
