what would I do there? I might have to pull Mr. Darcy aside I would think, at least for a dance ;-)

If you want to write do it. One sentence means you are actively 'writing' one sentence upon another then a paragraph, then a page. Every part of writing is forming the end product. Just write something, an idea, a concept, a little section, just begin and start forming a habit until you get your own rhythm.

The list is endless but I would say a possibly wonderful side effect is that it betters the way I speak in person. My writing voice and my more eloquent characters have settled beneath my skin and when I talk to others, I tend to mirror them in a way that I have become more polished in my diction.
Other than that, I love showing people my books, the covers, the pages, having them awe at something I created. I never tire of that.

I am currently writing the fourth in The Coma Mysteries (Woman in the Wall), but my upcoming mystery, Eerie Bluff is something I'm particularly excited about.
I have always wanted to base a book around one image; a woman discovered early in the morning in the reeds or in a creekbed or at the edge of a river, the slow ebb and flow around her still body.
I wanted to build a mystery around the discovery of her in the morning and the setting of a warm morning sky in contradiction to a dark night conflict. Who is she and what happened? Eerie Bluff is going to be an intricate haunting mystery and it is next on my list to write.
