I'm a huge fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer's use of the, "I just want to be a normal teen" trope, and wanted to add a twist--what if she was a normal teen who wanted to be a witch, but couldn't? She's still a snarky, sarcastic, brave young woman, navigating the path to her destiny.

Sitting around the long dining room table at my grandparent's house, listening to my family tell stories, was my favorite thing about childhood. As my uncles, grandparents, parents, aunt, and cousins kept us entertained and enthralled by tales of the common to the downright outrageous, I learned how to lead a listener a trail of breadcrumbs, through the woods, to the proverbial gingerbread house, all because of these wonderful people. I will forever dedicate all my books to my family, for this reason.

I'm currently working on The Kate Roark Magic Series, about a young woman who struggles with the same challenges towards independence as any other young person, except she's constantly getting into paranormal trouble.
I'll be working on this series until at least until 2019, then maybe a break for a new series--I have several new heroines who need their stories told next!
