How do you get inspired to write?

Laura Rich Sitting around the long dining room table at my grandparent's house, listening to my family tell stories, was my favorite thing about childhood. As my uncles, grandparents, parents, aunt, and cousins kept us entertained and enthralled by tales of the common to the downright outrageous, I learned how to lead a listener a trail of breadcrumbs, through the woods, to the proverbial gingerbread house, all because of these wonderful people. I will forever dedicate all my books to my family, for this reason.
