I'm always writing books! All kinds of books! Getting them published is the problem, since there's a lot going on with publishing, school book bans, prices of paper going up, etc. I don't have any definite dates beyond Holidays at the Castle (September 22nd!), but there will be more books from me in the future, yes!

I hate saying character's ages, because I rarely think about their exact ages, I only think in terms of, "almost a teen, a middle teen, an old teen" unless it's vital to the story, which doesn't happen very often. So when I'm asked I just go with how I feel at that moment. I've actually put Celie's EXACT age into Holidays at the Castle, thought, because years have passed during the course of the series and a lot of people haven't noticed! One of the people at my publisher was pushing back on her having a crush on Pogue because "she's only 11." So I put a joke into the upcoming book about how Bran keeps saying, "Well, you're only 11!" and they make him do the math that she can't possibly have been 11 for over two years! From the very first book I wanted Celie to have a crush on Pogue eventually, Rolf teases her about it, but at that point she's still thinking of him as Older Sibling Friend. From book 2 on I was steering them to being friends, and her with a crush, and hinting that one day (WHEN THEY ARE BOTH ADULTS) they might end up together.

Hi! And thank you!
Holidays at the Castle releases on September 22nd! Which I hope will give people lots of time to get their hands on a copy for the holidays in our world!

I'm glad you're so excited! I'm excited, too!
Around the release of Thursdays, PR or Marketing at my publisher got some feedback about the covers from booksellers, and wanted to tweak the style of the art and freshen up the covers, so we hired a different artist and gave them all new looks. Now cover feedback has swung back to, Let's redo the David Hohn covers! Because such is publishing!

I am currently on version 7 . . . I think? It will be published one day! It just isn't. quite. right. yet.

All of them are my favorites while I'm writing them! So right now my favorite book series is the one I'm working on, which hasn't come out yet! (It has witches in it.)

Thank you so much! That makes me very happy!
I love all my characters, but I do have favorites when it comes to writing them. I love to write from Florian's point of view in The Rose Legacy series, and I love to write Prince Lulath of Grath in the Castle Glower books!

Still no Sunday or Monday on the calendar yet . . . but Holidays at the Castle will be out next fall!

(view spoiler)[What are the ages and chronological order of the siblings in Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow? I am guessing the order is Hans Peter, Jorunn, Tordis or Torst (not sure who is older out of them), Askeladden, Katla, Einar, and Bellalyse. I don’t know where Annifrid belongs, as she was mentioned once. Also, wasn’t there supposed to be five boys and four girls? I count four boys and five girls, according to the glossary. I'll be honest: I don't remember either! It's been almost twenty years since I wrote that book! Askeladden is the third son, however, and Hans Peter is the eldest, while Bellalyse is the youngest. The others are all just in there somewhere, and it doesn't really matter for the purposes of the story.

Nope, just English, German, Norwegian, and trying to learn Danish!

If you're asking if I have any books coming out, I do! I have a brand new Castle Glower book, Holidays at the Castle, coming in the fall of 2026! I'm very excited about it!

I'm just home, getting over a long bout of bronchitis, after being in England for two weeks! I'm working on something that hasn't been announced yet, so I'm afraid I can't talk about it!

I just reread them all for . . . reasons . . . and I have to say, I'm very proud of them all! I like them all for different reasons!
Jessica Day George
That's great! Glad to hear it!
Jessica Day George
I would love to! Maybe one of these days! (But you know of course that Finn and Anthea live happily ever after!)
Jessica Day George
I will have a new book next fall, just in time for Christmas 2026, and I speak German and Norwegian and used to be able to read some Old Norse/Icelandic!

Okay, do you want to send me your original question again, then?
Jessica Day George
I'm sorry, but I do not! Are you a 12yo trying to get your book published? That's cool!
Lια (Talia)
I know a friend who is twelve and she published her book on her own. It is not too hard.

It's always the newest one, because it's so shiny and exciting! So right now my favorite that's published is The Rider's Reign!

I'm sorry, I don't understand this question.
