How many times a month do you get asked for advice on buying a telescope? How many times a month does somebody ruefully start a sentence with, "Yeah, I bought a telescope a few years ago ..." and go on to say how they never used it or can't figure it out?
Will Kalif Great question! I get this question a lot, both in email and comments through my youtube channel. I would say at least ten times a month.
The challenge of buying a telescope and not having a good experience with it is very common.
It is the cause of something I call "TCD" Syndrome. "Telescope Collecting Dust".
A few simple things about using a telescope can overcome this and create much more rewarding experiences with a telescope.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Will Kalif I have a lot of interests and pursuits. If I feel something that might be considered "writer's block" I just do something else. The feeling goes away. I write when I feel it. And when I don't feel it I just do something else.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Will Kalif Wow, never really thought about it. I guess having flexibility in work schedule is great. But you have to be disciplined.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Will Kalif Write. That's really what the most important thing. Write, and then write some more. Oh and then write some more.

What are you currently working on?
Will Kalif I am just finishing up my next epic fantasy novel "The Left-Handed Sword". I have outlines for several other books. I am not sure which one I will start on next. I have always wanted to do a book on cardboard projects. That would be a lot of fun.

How do you get inspired to write?
Will Kalif I really don't need much inspiration. Just about every piques my curiosity.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Will Kalif A publisher (Ulysses Press) contacted me with the idea of a book on how to easily use a small telescope. A telescope book has been on my to-do list for a long time so I jumped at the chance to write one!
