Another book set in Tanzania! But the POV will be an American woman in the field of public health. I won't try again to write in the POV of someone from a different culture than my own.

I worked in various countries of Africa as a doctor for 20 years. I loved it but it had highs and lows, as does everything. During the lows, I confess, I was always more stimulated to tell my stories. One afternoon, annoyed about a particularly nasty doctor I'd met, I started imagining the kinds of things he might do. That's how I got started, but it didn't take long before the process and the many things I loved about work caught up with me and inserted themselves into the book. Some of the incidents in the story happened and some were made up. The characters were made up. Fiction writing is fun that way.
