Marc Flanagan "I am just about to finish Rhine of Blood, which is the prequel to A Slave's Vengeance. Once that is completely wrapped up and released, I already have the rough drafts for Books 2 and 3 waiting on my desk to go through next."
Marc Flanagan "My inspiration comes directly from the authors I read and admire. I try to capture the visceral, gritty writing of Ben Kane, the incredible historical detail of Harry Sidebottom, the epic scale of Conn Iggulden, and the brilliant sense of military camaraderie you find in Simon Scarrow's work. I also draw a massive amount of inspiration from David Gemmell's multi-POV epics, which heavily influenced how I wanted to structure my own storytelling."
Marc Flanagan "The core idea started quite simply with a brother trying to rescue his sister from slavery in ancient Rome. That was the very first concept I wrote, and the world just expanded outwards from there. It has been a long journey to get it into readers' hands, though—that initial spark actually came to me eight years before the book was finally released."
