Abbie,
Thank you for the kind words. Ever since grade school I've had a knack for writing. Teachers always passed my assignments around for other students to read. This type of support encouraged me to continue my publishing journey. My father owned a candy store in Brooklyn when I was young and the mafia ran the numbers from his store. In return we were "protected." No matter what I would always be writing, but the relationships I developed with the mob lead me to come up with the Nick Bracco series. I hope you and your husband enjoy reading them as much as I do writing them.
Thanks again,
Gary

That's a great question. I guess it happened organically. It wasn't something I masterminded since I never intended to write an entire series. After I received so many emails asking when book # 2 was coming out, I decided to keep the 'A Touch of' title a trend. Believe me it's a struggle to continue the names, but it's fun at the same time.

I'm not a fantasy reader so my fictional worlds would be more realistic. I would say a Jack Reacher world where I would have breakfast with him and pick his brain about what he saw around us and tell me what I should notice. His awareness is remarkable.

I would have to say Robert B Parker's character Spenser and his girlfriend Susan Silverman. Spenser pretends to be in control of the relationship, but the reader knows it's Silverman who's pulling the strings. I enjoy their banter.

Not very well. The only time I really struggle with it is when I'm undecided which direction to go. I hate writing without direction. It seems so wasteful. Yet I know many authors much more talented than me who do it with wonderful results. Just not me.

Being able to create my own world. The English language is my beach and I'm building the very best sand castle I can imagine.

Just write. Anytime it's mentioned that I'm a writer the first thing people say is, "I've always wanted to write a book." The only difference between me and that person is I write and they don't. To quote a famous shoe ad: Just Do It.

Another Nick Bracco thriller. I've done short stories. I've done a stand alone novel. I love the Nick Bracco characters so I believe I will continue with that trend. Hey, it works for Lee Child

It's in my blood. Some people are firefighters, some schoolteachers. I'm a writer. Besides, I'm a big grump whenever I don't write.

The world seems to revolve around the finance. I wondered what would happen if a terrorist tried to destroy the national marketplace. The banks couldn't stop the run and chaos would ensue. Nick Bracco to the rescue.
