One of the greatest mysteries was who shot my great-great-grandfather and great-grandfather. My great-grandfather was murdered in cold blood on his very own porch. Shot to death in the middle of the night. The killer got away and the mystery as to why this happened remains unsolved down to this day.
My great-great-grandfather's murder was less of a mystery because my family knows why he was killed. It was the 'who' that got us stumped. My great-great-grandfather was one of the rare few black people at the time to own a business and land, and people wanted it. So, they drove up to his porch and shot him in front of his family. The killers still remain a mystery.
