Andrew Richardson I don't get writer's block. I have a three-year-old and a full-time job, so when there's time, I've got something to write. One thing I have found is that by now, I know my characters so well that sometimes I can just point them at a scene and it writes itself. Every now and again, that throws up something even I wasn't expecting, which is odd but very satisfying.
Andrew Richardson These Matters is part The Tudors, part The Musketeers. It's informed by a wealth of fascinating (real) history, because the true story is the best part. Some of the most unusual scenes are the ones that come from the history books.
Andrew Richardson I'm hoping to release book 2 of These Matters of Faith in the summer. It is mostly written, but needs a bit of tidying up. For a self-publisher such as myself, this is quite a laborious and difficult process, but it's worth it at the end.
Andrew Richardson Write! The best thing that anyone can do is to write as much as possible. I encounter people who expect the first thing they produce to be of Booker-winning quality, and when it isn't, it puts them off. It shouldn't. Everyone needs to practise. The other thing is to get people reading your stuff. You'll need a thick skin, because criticism can be tough, but it is good to take on board readers' feedback. It helps to develop you as a writer.
