I'm fortunate to have many irons in the fire at all times. If I get stuck on one project I usually just switch to something else--from music to nonfiction, from fiction to nonfiction. If I'm on a deadline, though, the best thing for me is to stand up and walk around...and, ahem, talk to myself.

I'm splitting my time these days between promoting A SONG FOR THE ROAD and drafting a new novel set in California wine country. In it, two women--a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law--working to reopen their family business after the man they shared (son/husband) burned down the winery with himself in it.
