I don't get writer's block. I write fiercely and avidly - sometimes up to 14 hours a day. Sometimes just 2-3 hours. But I write a LOT. In those moments and days when other things come up to do, they usually correspond to an certain inner exhaustion because I write so much. So I take life's lead and take time off as it shows up to do other things.

Occasionally getting paid. Just kidding - um ... making your own life and your own hours and getting paid (sometimes) for following your art and your passionate interests.

Write! Don't question the urge if it's there. Write! The "seat of the pants to the seat of the chair" is the only method. Write! Take the criticism when it comes (and it will) and learn from it. Don't take it personally. (Good luck with that ;-) Write! Write everyday. Follow your passions and let them tell you waht to write about. Don't try to force your opinions on editors about what you think they should want (and get from you). Supply them with what they ask for! Be professional. Write. Be professional ... I could repeat these last two things indefinitely!

I was asked by a guru from India to write a story about the feminine nature - and 10 years before that I'd been inspired by a shaman from the Amazon rain forests of Brazil to write about the feminine. So it seems like the Universe was conspiring to have me write this book from all sorts of different directions!
