I went in a date with a beautiful woman. Later that night she removed her entire face.

The world created by Gabriel Garcia Marquez in "100 Years of Solitude". Once there I'd take the advice of Jalaludin Rumi and sell my cleverness and use the proceeds to buy bewilderment so I could live in the same state of perpetual wonder and amazement. Serendipity was ubiquitous and I think most of humanity wishes we could go back to that "Atlantean" mindset.

I suppose in the same manner anyone is motivated to express their interpretation of the world they see. I feel that something that comes as natural to me as writing doesn't take much forethought unless I'm pushing myself to write for a specific reason or cause. I'm able to write about multitude of subjects that can transcend genres because I leave myself open to be inspired by all aspects of life, all schools of thought, all ways of religious, social and cultural expression. Blank sheets of paper inspire me the same way an idle ball does a sports star. That which you seek is seeking you so the paper reveals itself to your latent talents and powers as a way to manifest your destiny as a soccer ball does for Messi and a basketball for Steph Curry. I let life tell me what stories I should tell since it has already shown me writing is my calling.

This is because, I'm no longer the same person who wrote the stories in his twenties so often I read what appears to be the works of a stranger. Heraclitus said: "No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man."
Outside of having documented evidence of your growth as an individual and connection to all sentient beings is the release of any negative thoughts and the spreading of positive ones. (Depending on your genre of course).

By not forcing it. Once the right words are ready to be written they come pouring out like a fountain. You never have to force inspiration. Your subconscious mind may be aware of the summoning of this inspiration but it's not something you can consciously force. So, I treat writer's block like anything else in life, I respect it. It's a sign to be patient.
