What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
Sharon Skinner The biggest mystery in my life is how I managed to survive my crazy teenage years! LOL

It was awesome to have met you at the L.A. Times Festival of Books. I am really loving The Healer's Legacy, but hate that I have to wait so long for a sequel, lol? Kira reminds me of Menolly from Anne McCaffrey's Harperhall series. I love resourceful heroines! You are now an auto buy author when I need a good heroic fantasy fix.

Sharon Skinner Yes! We are working on the edits for the next story now.

What are you working on now?
Sharon Skinner I get this question a lot, so I thought I would post it here. I am currently working on a sequel to Collars & Curses and a MG adventure. I also recently wrote a writing article for the local library and am finishing upa short story for my publisher, who is doing a kickstarter for piutting the books on audio! Very exciting. :D

What books are on your summer reading list this year?
Sharon Skinner I am looking to read a lot of books for the 2020 Women Reading Challenge. I finished the challenge in 2018 and 2019, and plan to finish this year, as well. In addition, as always, I am reading and listening to a lot of audiobooks on writing.

When will the sequel to The Healer's Legacy be published?
Sharon Skinner The sequel to The Healer's Legacy, titled The Matriarch's Devise, is due out Fall 2015! It will be available at all the usual outlets. Keep an eye on my blog for a more specific release date. Or look for me in the Brick Cave Books booth at Tucson ComiCon in November to get your signed copy.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Sharon Skinner Give yourself not only time to write, but permission, and learn as much about craft as possible.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Sharon Skinner All of my books are character driven, so every story starts with a character. Basically, these are the voices that get inside my head and nag at me until I tell their stories.

What are you currently working on?
Sharon Skinner I am currently working on the sequel to my first published fantasy novel, The Healer's Legacy. The working title of the sequel is The Matriarch's Devise and it is due out in 2015.
