Hi Stuart, Thank you for your email, and your kind thoughts. I am glad you enjoyed the first volume, and I hope you enjoy the second book. Demetrius was a remarkable figure. I have not read Alfred Duggan's book, but I will seek it out. Pyrrhus and Demetrius has quite a relationship. Beginning as close friends, and then becoming rivals as the politics of their time demanded. Volume III is a work in progress, and will probably take a year to finish. I would be very interested in your thoughts on Volume II. With thanks and kindest regards. Ian

This goes back to the idea for the first book. Pyrrhus is a great and under-acknowledged figure in ancient history. His story offered a wealth of historical and political adventure, in a time where the history is dimly understood by the usual reader. A great man whose story begged to be told. Having embarked on the journey, it continues, and it will take three volumes to recount Pyrrhus' life and adventures.

My favourite reading, and my hobby for many years, has been Greek and Roman history and legend. Writing the book(s) about Pyrrhus was the next step in the journey.

Writer's block is not really a problem for me. My subject is my intellectual hobby, and I write when I have the time to do so, without time constraints. I can imagine writer's block when one has a deadline, but that has not been an issue for me
