Dave Turpin Who inspired Vivika?

The first thought of the character was that she was small in stature. Which lead me to the gymnast angle. And to ramp up the drama, a gymnast that has lost a leg. As far as an actual 'who' inspired, the closest real life flesh and blood person I see when I visualize Vivika, is Jennifer Love Hewitt. The hair, face, height, that sort of thing. She's always struck me as playful, quick witted, etc. I've watched a few of her interviews on late night talk shows, where I made note of her smile, her quick comebacks to the host, etc. In my mind's eye, she fit the bill. :)
Dave Turpin I read an article about government dis-information agents and or entire departments that were established just to disseminate false, misleading, fraudulent information to guide public opinion about UFO's.

I had a gut feeling about this taking place, but the more I read, the more I was interested and fascinated by these activities. And the spark of an idea hit me... what if?
Dave Turpin At about 5 - 6 years old I told a story about a coyote turned into a Saguaro cactus. I had never seen either a coyote or a cactus of that type. That's the way it started, where it came from... God only knows.
Dave Turpin The Rock House of Truth or Consequences.

The fourth book in the Vivika Stryker Mystery series.

Something about a ghost hunting type show comes to little ol' T or C, to film an episode.
Dave Turpin Read, read, read, read, write, write, write, write, write, suffer. 10 easy steps!
Dave Turpin Everything. From the white knuckle days of looking a manuscript thinking its all tripe. To the surprise of watching my first reader's reaction when she laughs, and cries at the "right" part in the story.
Dave Turpin When I find a speed bump while working on a story, I create, and kill off a character. I may or may not leave the character in the story. It changes the channels, and frees me up to think about the "real" story at hand.
