Thank you, Ram, for your question.
It certainly helps the reader if a writer knows grammar and how to communicate effectively. The writer should know the rules and be consistent. The writer should be familiar enough with the subject to earn the reader's trust.

Creating something. Indulging all my interests through writing. Sharing these interests with readers, giving them something to think about, and providing them with a mini-vacation from worldly cares.
Once my novel is completed and before the public, I feel satisfied I have put forth my best writing effort.

Seeing something interesting from a new perspective can get that writing itch going. I want to share the new angle with readers, in the hope they will carry the idea away with them after they finish the story and chew on it for awhile. The fresh view might come from a dream, a walk in nature, a spiritual experience, or a news article, especially in science. It usually deals with 'what if.'
I'm presently working on a fantasy that began after I read that a male and female mosquito will hum in harmony when they are courting. The book doesn't revolve around this; it acted more as a kick-start for ideas.

Hmm. I'm not sure what my most recent book is. Well, my novella, Long Pig, is at Amazon in print and will be launched as an e-book October 4, so I'll call that my most recent.
I wanted to see if I could write a horror story, and having lived through the 1960s and 70s when the cults were active, in or out of communes, some of what I'd seen and experienced from that era formed the ingredients for the tale. That included the back-to-nature movement, as well as the spiritual.

The Water Pearl is a fantasy I'm trying to polish as I find time.
Waiting in the wings are other novels I want to get to. Mostly fantasy. In addition, I want to work on a spiritual memoir.

Whew! I never believed in writer's block, until it happened to me when my hubby was hospitalized and almost died. He was so much on my mind, I couldn't work on my writing and in fact felt like never again writing. The passion was gone. What did I do? I wrote in my journal, pouring out my heart and my insights onto the page. And when the president of our writing group gave an assignment that would lead to a novel, I took part.
Various forms of writing exist, which can help with the writer's block. It's what you call, a change of pace. Sometimes it is writing letters, or a book review, or an article, or a journal, or poetry. This isn't to say you should drive yourself mercilessly to bleed a certain number of words onto a page for a fixed time. But take your time. Take a break. Do the dishes. Pull weeds. Go for a hike. Sing. Weep. Play games. Then come back to writing.
What if I had never kept writing in some other form? Would my passion have returned? I don't know. But after four or so years, it crept back like a shy seedling and is again in bloom.
