Victoria Lynn Work hard. Learn as much as you can and do your best to stay with the competition by presenting your work as professionally as possible. But don't be afraid to jump in and get your hands dirty! Sometimes it takes just investing time into it, doing your best and getting it out there, even if you do make some mistakes along the way. That's how we learn best anyway. <3
Victoria Lynn Hmmm. . . that's a good question! I do tend to focus on things that I intend to publish, but I do spend a little time or have spent time on writing things that are just for me. They usually aren't full works. I dont' tend to finish them because I don't have the motivation of publication.
Victoria Lynn Hi Luca, I received a very old copy of the book from my grandfather and when I decided to read it, I didn't really know what I was getting myself into. The writing style was very quaint (something I love anyway) And it was a very dramatic, romantic tale that was very charming to me. I enjoyed reading it immensely and that is why I rated it five stars. I hope that answers your question.
Victoria Lynn I am currently working on two things. A modern suspense story that include a Main Character who has amnesia, a corrupt corporation and a disgruntled uncle. I am also working on Shadows in London, book 2 in the Light of London Series. Which one makes you the most excited?
Victoria Lynn Music ceases to exist. The disappearance leaves a void within every heart.
Victoria Lynn The proof copy was pretty much perfect when it comes to formatting, but I have edited the book numerous times since then. The proof copy has a place of honor on my shelf as it is my "first book" . :D
Victoria Lynn The Hound of the Baskervilles is first on the list! I look forward to reading another Sherlock Holmes mystery by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Victoria Lynn That is an awesome question. It really made me think! I think it probably has. Life can't help but affect everything you do and I would probably say that having to interact with that many people on a regular basis probably has affected and given me a bit more of an insight into that. I do know that my sibling relationships were definitely a huge influence on my book London in the Dark.
Victoria Lynn I would have to say novels. . . I have a hard time narrowing things down to just a short story. And I like to spend more time with my characters than a short story allows, so I definitely think I would pick writing novels over a short story, though I do both.
Victoria Lynn Unfortunately, there is not sequel in the works currently for 'Bound'. I will definitely give it some prayer and thought though! And I won't rule out the possibility of one in the future. Thanks for the question!
Victoria Lynn Yes Lorien! Thanks for the question! I am currently working on editing part 2 of the Q&A. I am so excited for you all to see it.
Victoria Lynn If I had to pick one thing it would be this. If you really want to write, the only way to do that is to write. Sounds cliché, but it is the only thing that will get you anywhere. Set a time limit that you think you can accomplish every day, even if it is only 5-15 minutes. Then commit to yourself to do that EVERY DAY. After about a month, you will have a habit, and you won't want to look back!
Victoria Lynn Anne and Gilbert Blythe. Swoon. I love the dramatic, flighty, lovely Anne paired with Gilbert who is a doctor and has a steady, calm personality that balances Anne out perfectly. I also love how we got to see them grow older together, and I love how much they love each other.
Victoria Lynn Ooh. This one is a really hard question. I love all of history and find great delight in learning more about it and writing about it. I would have to say that I have three specific eras. The Civil War era, the turn of the century, and WW2. I know the most about the Civil War era because I have been reading books based on that time period for as long as I can remember. The turn of the century fascinates me. It was a time when things were changing, becoming brighter, but also becoming more complex. And WW2 was a terrible, astounding time when God often felt distant, but He was there the whole time.
Victoria Lynn My favorite all-encompassing genre is Christian Fiction because my relationship with Christ is very important to me and I wouldn't be where I am without it. I want others to experience God the way I have and, to be perfectly honest, I can't help but let it bleed out into my stories.
Victoria Lynn I just write. That is my motto and has been ever since I started writing. The only way to get around a writers block, is to MAKE YOURSELF WRITE! It doesn't sound fun and it may be agony at first, but by writing more, you get yourself over that hump and it becomes a joy to write again!
Victoria Lynn I am currently working on the last edit of London in the Dark. Otherwise, I am writing and plotting the sequel Novella to London! I am really excited about it!
