It's usually not a problem but when I do come across times when I just don't feel like writing, I move on to something else and try again later. On other occasions I just sit down and more often than not, once I get started and hit my stride I'm off and running.

As to what advice to offer aspiring writers, I wish I knew something truly insightful that would help speed them on their way. It’s just as hard these days, if not harder, to find a good agent as it is to find a publisher. It always helps when you know someone, of course, like a literary agent. For those of you who, like me, don’t personally know any publishers or agents, I’d recommend looking for small publishers who are just getting started. They’re much more open to taking on new and inexperienced writers. I happened across a young publishing company called World Castle Publishing and I’ve been with them since. There’s always the option of self-publishing as well, something that’s gained respectability over the last few years.

I just finished Heaven's Oasis, which is due to be released on November 22nd. It's a Christian Romance/Suspense/Fantasy. BTW, I'm looking for some reviews so if you're interested and willing to post a review to Amazon and Goodreads (if you like it), email me at jeff@hortonlibrary.com and let me know what eBook format you like and I'll send you a copy.
My next project is a novel I've tentatively entitled "Future Schism," a story written in the vein of a George Orwell novel. It's set in the future and it centers around a time when the United States has finally divided into two countries based on ideological differences, with two entirely different and two failing cultures.

That's a great question. I have to wait until I have time and I feel inspired before I can really hit my stride in writing. I try to fill in the gaps by working on the outline, fleshing out a character's profile, or working on the detail of the world I've created.
I suppose the best thing I can do to get inspired is to find some "quiet time" and just sit down and start typing; if the inspiration is there it's there.

I've long considered myself a romantic and have wanted to write a novel like Heaven's Oasis for some time. I suppose I'd have to say that I was most inspired by the true life story behind the book and film, The Vow.
