I have a number of physics books and they always seem to divide into two camps - either they are devoid of mathematics (i.e. for laymen) or they are graduate level texts that skip steps, have no solutions for exercises, and have dense explanations. Physics books can often frustrate me. They assume the mathematics (no matter how sophisticated) is well known by the reader and they make few attempts to walk through the steps of calculations. Ironically I find math books easier to follow on the whole. These frustrations were the motivations for my books.
