Thank you, Lynn! I love that book too. I pitched a follow-up story to my publisher, but they chose a different one. So, the short answer is there is not another one under contract, but I haven't given up on the idea.
I thought it would be so much fun to see the lodge in action and see how Matt and Liz are doing while also following Krissy's life in Antler Creek. Maybe opening up that little shop on Main Street she'd dreamed of, and a sweet romance between her and Grady, the sheriff who was so smitten with her from the first time he'd seen her. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much for reading my books, and sharing them with your friends.
Hugs and happy reading.

Hi, Alicia,
It was so exciting. Hallmark did such a wonderful job bringing that story to life. I'll admit I was too bad Gray in the book turned into a dog named George in the movie, but I still loved it. The actors were perfect, and I loved that Erin Cahill is a Virginia girl like me. She was so perfect in that role.
If you enjoyed The Secret Ingredient I think you'll love Sand Dollar Cove too. Hallmark optioned that book too. It was supposed to shoot this year, but the pandemic pushed many of the movies out...Sand Dollar Cove among them. Hopefully, it will shoot next year.
Thanks so much for the question. Every movie with Hallmark has been such a thrill. They are a wonderful team to work with. It's been a dream come true for me.

Hello, Siri,
I hope you're forging ahead on your writing projects. I have to admit the first several books I wrote...I didn't even really think about plot. I'm a natural storyteller, but the characters are what I imagine and the stories unfold from there. Lucky for me, there happened to be an entertaining plot along the way lol.
Nowadays I do think about the plot. I just keep being active in my life and ideas unfold around me. It might be an experience (like Alaska and glass blowing in Until Tomorrow), a comment ('I just want to run away' that inspired Life After Perfect) or a place (like the beautiful coastline of NC that I write about in The Christmas Shop and Sand Dollar Cove)...but I think the key is to be present in your life now and the ideas will come. If you lock yourself away and try to force a story...it will feel that way to the reader too. Trust your journey!
Hugs and happy writing,
Nancy

Oooh! Good question. Years ago I had a friend store all of my furniture and belongings, only later to find out that someone in their family garage saled it all...right down to my wedding dress, photos and ring. I'd love to know what really happened. And what if those things popped up again?

Thank you so much! They are my favorite too.
Yes! They will show up in a future novel. I'm working on it. No release date, but the title will be Porch Swings and Promises. :) Stay tuned.

That's such a tough question.
Of the fictional couples I've written, I'd have to say Kasey Phillips and Cody Tuggle still pull on my heart strings. I love the two stories that feature them ~ Out of Focus, and then the followup story, Pecan Pie and Deadly Lies.
Those two are bigger than life, but they have the same everyday troubles we do. I like that. I also loved how they stay so grounded through all of the good times and bad.
They are my favorite, because they feel the most real to me. Like real friends I just haven't seen in a while.
:)
Thanks for asking!

Greetings, Fred,
Thanks so much for spending your time between the covers of Christmas Joy. I loved writing that book.
I'd set out to write the story about a big city gal rediscovering the beauty of the basic things in life when her aunt needs her...and being over the holidays made it fun for me. I love the holidays, and decorations ~ all the family tradition wrapped around Christmas. Interestingly enough the store became so much more with Molly who was an accidental add one morning that just seemed to work. I fell in love with Joy's relationship with Molly, and all of the fun they had with Ben. What a hero. A good man.
I've got another Christmas story coming out this October called Hope at Christmas. It's in a different town, but still North Carolina. Stay tuned!
Pssst...it's already on pre-order.

I took early retirement from Bank of America. I was an SVP and I loved that job, and working for BAC. However, I love my new work clothes a lot better as Writer Girl. Jammies, Jammies and more Jammies. I made platinum membership on my first shopping trip to Soma. Enough said?

I don't believe in writer's block. I think it's like anything else. Sometimes you might not be in the mood to do it, but you do what you gotta do. On those days I really don't feel like writing, I turn my attention to marketing or other parts of the writing business. There's always plenty of varied activities to get done!

Barbecue and Bad News just came out this week, and I knew Sheriff Scott Calvin was way overdue for his love story. Readers were a little unhappy when Kasey chose Cody over Scott back in Pecan Pie and Deadly Lies, but I knew there was someone better out there for Scott.
I have to admit that some of the shock jock and no-filter creatives like Howard Stern and Chelsea Handler had a hand in creating the heroine for that book. I started to wonder if someone that seemed so crass in advice and comments might have baggage that they were hiding behind. Out of those thoughts came Savannah. She was not showing that side to the world, but even with it under wraps it nearly destroyed her chance at love. But thank goodness, we can recover from just about anything if we put our heart into it.

Inspiration is everywhere. Sometimes it's just a snippet of a conversation, or something funny that creates just a teensy germ of an idea that spreads like crazy. When those things happen that I can't quit thinking about...I know I'm on to something that can carry through a whole book.

I'm working on several projects right now, along with the marketing of my 2015 titles. This year I've got,
BARBECUE AND BAD NEWS - an Adams Grove Novel that just came out on Feb 10th. Then, I've got book three in The Granny Series, IN HIGH COTTON coming out in April, followed by a new women's fiction novel titled, LIFE AFTER PERFECT on May 19th.
I also have a novella, SAND DOLLAR COVE, in the box set titled SWEET TALK that will be released in May - available only in May and June with all proceeds going to Diabetes Research.
So while all that is rolling out...
I'm working on another Adams Grove novel to come out in 2015, and a really awesome new book with a car-guy hero that I'm super excited about. After going to the Mecum Auction in Florida this January I couldn't wait to write a sexy car-guy hero. :)

Never give up. People will recite a bunch of depressing statistics, but the truth is if it is your dream...you should do it. Don't let anyone stand in your way and don't let not having the time slow you down. Even just twenty minutes a day could result in a book in a year!
