Tom Golden As my book is a memoir, my inspiration was simply life's experiences. I inherited a wonderful sense of humor from both of my parents so I literally laughed out loud at some of the crazy stories that I included. By the same token, there are a number of very emotional stories which I cried through as I wrote them. Let me put it like this, I not only wrote the stories - I relived them.
Tom Golden I honestly don't know. I never intended to write a book … it was never one of my life's goals. It just sort of happened - one short story at a time until I had 135 of them. This sounds crazy, but sometimes the stories flowed out of me as if being dictated by someone else. I look at the completed project now and can't believe that I actually did it.

Tom Golden I think that is simply the satisfaction of creating something that is of interest to others.
Tom Golden I just got up and walked away from my PC. Trying to force something never seemed to work. Ideas, memories and inspiration popped up at the strangest times. I learned to keep a pen and paper in my pocket at all times (as well as on the bedside table).
